Our proposal for the Prostějov observatory has been given an honorable mention in an architectural competition.

I head to the center of the park, where levitates an object torn from the earth by an unknown force. I descend slowly as i realize that my legs are standing on solid ground, grounded in the soil. I enter and the soil surrounds me completely. I stand still, slow down, sit and my eyes are drawn to the skies, uninterupted by the surroudning world. After a while I venture further and the levitating mass above me closes and I can’t be quite certain it won’t collapse on me. I feel an ancient fear, that Atlas won’t hold the heavens anymore. My awakened senses are prepared for enlightement, for knowledge to be bestowed on them. Finally, I climb to a world, which is trying to reach the stars. And the dreams change, I fly towards the stars as an astronaut. Around me, there are so many familiar plants…. Aren’t I dreaming of the flower on the Little Prince’s Planet?

We are proposing an observatory connecting with the Earth and seemigly levitating massive block of earth. The „Megalitic“ observatory firmly grounded in the middle of the park’s ellipse and a building full of technology able to almost touch the stars. 
We propose an observatory as a place of scientific and romantic observation of objects too distant, just as a place of realization of participance to a unique space object deserving of our respect and protection – the Earth.
